LAHORE – The government of Pakistan issues passport to its citizens to facilitate their journey and provide them protection while travelling abroad.
The holder of a valid Pakistan passport, when in any foreign country, is entitled to the protection of diplomatic and consular representative of Pakistan in that country.
Passport is the only document that confirms the identity of the citizen in foreign countries.
Directorate General of Immigration & Passports, which works under the Ministry of Interior, is the competent authority to process the applications and issue passports to the citizens subject to the requirements.

Citizens who are currently living in Pakistan are required to visit the Regional Passport Office if they are applying for the travel document for the first time.
Step-by-Step Process for Passport Application
The applicant will go through the following steps at Regional Passport Offices in Pakistan for obtaining the new Machine Readable Passport (MRP):
Arrival of the Applicant at Customer Service Counter.

Biometrics/Finger Prints capture.
Data Entry.
