LAHORE – Road travel in Punjab is getting expensive as the government decided to jack up toll plaza rates across the region by up to a whopping 100 percent.
A notification shared by the Communication and Work (C&W) department said the new rates will be effective from February 1, 2024.
With the latest revision of toll taxes, cars, and taxis will now be charged Rs30, up from Rs. 20. Additionally, toll tax for buses has been raised from Rs60 to Rs70.
Meanwhile, the minibus and wagon tax increased to Rs40 from PKR20, and truck drivers will now be charged Rs70.
It further said that tractor trolleys used in agriculture will pay Rs40 whereas commercial vehicles will experience a revised fee, the new rate standing at Rs70. From the start of next month, loader trucks, pick-ups, and dumpers will be paying Rs 360.
