Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) leader Irfanullah Marwat has slammed Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani for blaming the citizens of Karachi for the city’s ongoing issues. Marwat stated that the biggest fault of Karachi’s residents is tolerating incompetent and corrupt ministers like Saeed Ghani. He accused Ghani and his allies of shifting blame onto the citizens to cover up their corruption and incompetence.
Marwat emphasized that Saeed Ghani and his party, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), have played a major role in the city’s current deteriorating condition and its transformation into a ruin. He stated that the primary goal of the minister and his brother has been to embezzle funds designated for the development and basic human needs of Karachi.
He added that for the past 16 years, the Zardari-led PPP government has exploited Karachi, opting for corruption rather than providing developmental schemes and essential services.
As a result, Karachi has become one of the most deteriorating cities in Pakistan. Marwat also pointed out that the streets and roads in Ghani’s own constituency are in deplorable condition. Marwat further criticized the Sindh government formed under “Form 47” as being disconnected from the public. According to him, their focus is on accumulating wealth through corruption, building palaces, and acquiring properties abroad, rather than addressing the needs of the citizens. Irfanullah Marwat warned the rulers to shift their focus from vengeance to solving the city’s problems. He cautioned that if this continues, the citizens of Karachi will know how to fight for their rights.
