A drug-addict on Friday set ablaze his wife alive and hid her dead body in the house.
According to police, the accused identified as Zubair, a resident of Kahna area of the City, set on fire his wife named Naila.
The accused committed the crime when their children were on a visit to maternal grandmother’s home.
Later, the accused fled the scene. The police, however, have recovered the charred body of the woman and started further investigation.
The police informed that the accused is a drug-addict. On the other hand, heirs of the slain woman alleged that other members of her in-laws were also involved in the killing.
CCPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar took the notice of the incident and sought a report from the Model Town SP. He also ordered the officers concerned to arrest the accused at the earliest.
