The Pakistan Physical Society (PPS) and Forman Christian College – A Chartered University (FCCU), have jointly organised a three-day International Conference titled: “Recent Trends in Plasma Physics” from Wednesday (today).

The online conference is being hosted by FCCU and as many as 250 persons including faculty, researchers, and postgraduate students, working in the field of Plasma Physics, from all over Pakistan have been registered for the conference.

Conference Organizer Dr Hassan Shah, who is now at FCCU, informed that during the three-day deliberations, 37 papers will be presented and out of these 7 keynote speakers – belonging to the USA, Germany; Australia; Holland; Singapore; UK and Belgium will share their findings in the field of Plasma Physics.

The conference is expected to cover theoretical, experimental, and computational Plasma Physics, which will include talks on laboratory plasma; space physics and astrophysical plasmas.

Dr Shah added that there is a substantial Plasma Physics community that would benefit from this meeting.

He further added that in the country national conferences had all but come to halt in the past year due to Covid, thus in Pakistan, this Conference is being welcomed by the Plasma Physicists, especially true for our young researchers and PhD students working different Universities across the country.

Dr Shah expressed his gratitude to the FCCU administration and IT personnel for lending support for the mega event.
