RAWALPINDI – At least four terrorists of a banned outfit including a suicide bomber were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), ISPR said.
A statement issued by the military’s media wing said security forces conducted an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in North Waziristan District on Jan 2nd after the reported presence of insurgents.
During the conduct of IBO, an intense fire exchange occurred between Pakistani forces and terrorists, and as a result, four terrorists were eliminated including a suicide bomber.
ISPR said those who were killed were actively involved in several terror activities against security forces and were planning to conduct high-profile terror attack, which was averted due to a proactive response by the security forces.
The statement said forces recovered arms, ammunition and explosives from killed terrorists.
Meanwhile, sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
