Eid Miladun Nabi 2024: Pakistan to observe holiday on 17 September

ISLAMABAD – The federal government has marked September 17 as public holiday for Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

A notification was issued in this regard saying all schools, colleges, and public and private offices will remain closed on September 17 Tuesday.

Eid Miladun Nabi 2024 Holiday

Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed that the 12th Rabiul Awwal will be observed on September 17, as the moon for the Islamic month was not sighted. This decision was made during a meeting in Islamabad, led by Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and is observed by Muslims globally on the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
