Lahore, Punjab weather update; more intermittent rains, few heavy falls likely

LAHORE – More intermittent rains with few heavy falls and gusty winds are likely in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Friday night and Saturday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), shallow westerly wave prevails over upper/northeastern parts of Pakistan.

Under these weather conditions, rains are likely at isolated places in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Mianwali, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad and Lahore on Friday night. Heavy falls are likely at isolated places in Potohar region.

On Saturday, more rains with few heavy falls are likely at isolated places in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat and Hafizabad.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, rains occurred in Lahore and at isolated places in northeast Punjab during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the province.

Bhakkar and Noorpur Thal remained the hottest places in Punjab where the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 85 per cent.
