DG Khan Police arrest 42 fugitives in last 30 days

The Dera Ghazi Khan Police under the supervision of DPO Omar Saeed Malik have been effectively fighting anti-social elements, which is evident from the elimination of notorious Ladi gang.

Under the strategy, 18 police stations of the District Police have arrested a total of 42 fugitives and other accused involved in various crimes during the past 30 days and recovered drugs and illegal weapons from their possession.

The special crackdown has been launched on the orders of Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani to improve law and order situation and protect the honour, property and life of the common man.

Similar operations are being carried out in all districts of the province to weed out the anti-social elements.

Sharing details of police operations, DPO Omar Saeed Malik said that district police arrested dacoits and thieves and recovered stolen goods worth Rs26.8 million. In 54 cases of illegal arms, 10,698 bullets including 4 Kalashnikovs, 59 pistols, 02 mousers, 02 rifles were recovered.

Regarding the ongoing drug eradication operation, the DPO said that police recovered 16.860kg of hashish, 686 litres and 16 bottles of liquor and 3.500 kg of cannabis from the possession of the accused.

Besides, 07 cases of gambling were registered in the district and Rs124,060 stake money was recovered.

DPO Omar Saeed Malik further said that full scale operation against anti-social elements will remain continued.

He declared that the district police have been alert and people should consider the police as their protectors and helpers.

He urged people to inform the police concerned immediately about the presence of any dubious individuals in their area.

He reiterated the pledge to spare no effort serving the masses to their satisfaction under any circumstances.
