Officials asked to step up anti-dengue measures

Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Secretary Sarah Aslam directed the department to intensify dengue prevention activities across Punjab.

In this regard, she said that monsoon rains have started, which warrants precautionary measures should be intensified against dengue.

Citizens should be more responsible in preventing dengue during monsoon, especially they should not let rainwater accumulate in residential areas.

Sara Aslam said that during last 24 hours, no new case of dengue has been reported across the province. Only one confirmed dengue patient is undergoing treatment in Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi. During this year, a total of 60 confirmed dengue cases have been reported all across the province.

and out of the confirmed cases, 27 patients has been reported from Lahore. In last 24 hours, 272,009 indoor and 60,764 locations were checked across the Punjab while larvae was destroyed from 117 locations.

In Lahore, 14,598 houses and 4,115 outdoor places were checked for dengue larvae and 79 positive containers were destroyed.
