The intensity of the cold in Karachi has increased due to strong winds, leading to a drop in temperatures in various parts of the city. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature recorded late at night was 11.8°C at Jinnah Terminal, 11.9°C in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, and 13°C at Shahrah-e-Faisal. In Mauripur and Bin Qasim, temperatures dropped to 14.5°C and 13.6°C, respectively.
The Meteorological Department has forecast that the minimum temperature on Monday could reach 10.5°C, and dry and cold weather is expected over the next 24 hours. Intermittent strong winds are also predicted, which may further enhance the chill in the air. Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz stated that Karachi has experienced temperatures ranging from 9°C to 10°C over the past 6 to 7 days, and the cold wave is expected to intensify in the coming days. He further mentioned that the maximum temperature during the day is likely to remain between 24°C and 25°C.
