Special Assistant to Prime Minister and former deputy speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi has said the present coalition government would complete its tenure and next general elections would be held at stipulated time.
Talking to APP, the Prime Minister’s special assistant said the government was taking concrete measures for resolving problems of masses and elections could not be held at whims and wishes of any particular figure or political party. Neither can the country afford to spend billions of rupees on holding election at a time when people were reeling from unexpectedly huge losses and damages due to current devastating flood.
He said that the government was committed to extending relief to flood affected people and utilizing all available resources to rehabilitate damaged infrastructures and resettle flood stricken people in their areas.—APP
