Chairman, 49 VCs take oath in SW

In South Waziristan (SW), 49 VCs and NCs chairmen including tehsil Wana chairman, took oath ceremony held at Lower Camp AC Jirga Hall Wana.

Oath was administered by Assistant Commissioner Wana / Returning Officer Wana Basheer Khan and Addl. Assistant Commissioner Wana Subdivision / Returning Officer Wana Dr. Sadiq Ali.

The oath Ceremony included Maulana Saleh Wazir (Newly elected chairman of Wana Tehsil) Youth councilors, Peasants councilors, women and one Minority candidate including chairmen elected from 49 VCs and NCs. It is pertinent to mention that a total of 246 elected candidates including Tehsil Wana Chairman participated in the oath ceremony, Which included a member of the minority.

On the occasion, Additional Assistant Commissioner Wana / Returning Officer Wana Dr. Sadiq Ali stated that “under the Local Government Act 2013 and relevant LG Rules the elected representatives in the recent local body elections took oath today. For the first time, the Local bodies like other parts of the country have took oath today.
