Under the Prime Minister’s Clean Green Pakistan program, 500,000 different types of saplings are being planted in Faisalabad district during the current season.
Similarly, block plantation and establishment of urban forest are also part of the program, said Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali while planting saplings under Clean Green Pakistan Index Phase-II in Parveen Shakir Complex in collaboration with the district administration and the Forest Department.
ADCs – Muhammad Khalid, Afifa Shajia, AC City Syed Ayub Bukhari, Divisional Forest Officer Muhammad Ali Butt, PHA Director Horticulture Abdullah Nisar Cheema and other officers also planted saplings on the occasion.
The DC underscored that tree plantation is essential to prevent pollution and the Prime Minister’s Ten Billion Tree Project is a revolutionary initiative that is being achieved in a coordinated manner.
He said that the district administration is carrying out plantation campaign in shape of a movement in which citizens participation is mandatory to make it a great success.
