Youth leadership summer camp held on environmental issues

A four-day Youth Leadership Summer Camp 2023 was held at Youth Hostel Batakundi few kilometers from the scenic valley Naran. Organized by Directorate of youth affairs, Government of Khyber pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto woman University Peshawar aims to bring awareness among youth about environmental issues.

The students of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Woman University and its affiliated colleges accompanied by their teachers visited Batakundi Youth Hostel. The aim of this Leadership Summer Camp was to bring awareness among the youth regarding environmental issues, climate change and their responsibility to protect it from harm.

Activities like poster designing and presentations, cultural music, photography competitions, poetical verses competition and other recreational activities was part of this 4-Day recreational visit. This camp focuses to sensitize and train the young generation towards the environmental sustainability and empowering them in the transition of the green Youth.

These young ambassador will be the guardian of the planet and will inspire and support climate action in our communities and networks. The summer camp has various activities for the Youth including harnessing session on women employment, bringing green literature on canvas, importance of women in leadership role, poster presentation and awareness stickers on climate change, the students also distributed the messages and models in the local communities in Naran and Batakundi.
