Provincial Health Minister and PTI Central Punjab President Dr. Yasmin Rashid has said that the system of oppression by the federal government is continuing.
We strongly condemn the brutal violence on Senator Azam Swati and will go to file a petition in the Supreme Court Registry on December 1st at 11:30 am today. She expressed these views during an important press conference at the central office of PTI Central Punjab today.
Dr. Nosheen Hamid Miraj, Andalib Abbas, Sadia Sohail Rana, Shanila Rooth and other women leaders were present in the press conference. Provincial Health Minister and PTI Central Punjab President Dr. Yasmin Rashid added that we condemn the re-arrest of 75-year-old Senator Azam Swati. Federal Government has humiliated Azam Swati by removing her clothes. There is no example of this in history. Azam Swati’s housewives were disrespected. We request the courts of Pakistan to provide us with justice against the oppression of Azam Swati.
History will never forgive those who posted this video on social media. There was a strong reaction from women from all over the country against the viralization of Azam Swati’s home video. On May 25, all of us women were dragged on the streets on the orders of the federal government. The federal government violated the sanctity of the house. I was driving my own car, I was dragged.
The Sharif family is only hungry for power. 50% of Pakistan’s population consists of women. The sanctity of house is being violated in Pakistan. Tears were not stopping during Azam Swati’s press conference. There is no example of the way it has been attacked. Women’s rights are being killed in Pakistan. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government has taken measures in the health and education sectors to ensure the health and education of mothers and children.
