Weather update for Lahore, Punjab; rains, gusty winds likely

LAHORE – Rains and gusty winds are likely in parts of Punjab on Tuesday evening/night and Wednesday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave will likely affect upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most districts of the province on Tuesday evening/night and Wednesday.

However, windstorm/thunderstorm with isolated rain is likely in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal and Talagang on Tuesday evening/night.

On Wednesday, windstorm/thunderstorm with isolated rain is likely in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Mianwali, Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Narowal Bhawal Nagar, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Talagang.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 40-42°C on Wednesday and 41-43°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours.

Noorpur Thal and Bahawalpur remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 30 per cent.
