ISLAMABAD – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Tuesday night, Wednesday and Thursday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), light to moderate monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper/central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave affects northwestern parts of the country.
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected the twin cities and at isolated places of Sindh, northeast and south Balochistan, Kashmir, Potohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday and Thursday, more rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in the twin cities, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Punjab, lower Balochistan and southeast Sindh.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40°C on Wednesday and 36-38°C on Thursday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 37-39°C on Wednesday and 36-38°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, rain/thundershowers occurred at isolated places in lower Sindh, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan during the last 24 hours.

Turbat remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. Maximum temperature in Dalbandin and Jacobabad was recorded at 45°C, Mohenjo-Daro, Sibbi, Nokkundi and Khairpur at 44°C, and Rohri, Larkana and Dadu at 43°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 46 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 44 per cent.
