Weather outlook of Islamabad, Pakistan; westerly wave to persist

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and cloudy weather for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan on Sunday evening/night and the next day.

According to the synoptic situation, a trough of a westerly wave is affecting the southern and upper parts of the country and will likely to persist over most parts till Monday.

Under these conditions, cloudy and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country on Sunday evening/night and Monday.

Rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected in southeastern Sindh on Sunday evening/night.

Fog/smog is likely to prevail in the plains of Punjab during the morning hours.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature will likely remain between 07-09 degrees Celsius on Monday and 06-08 C on Tuesday.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 07-09 C on Monday and 06-08 C on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy weather prevailed over most parts of the country and cold in upper parts during the last 24 hours.

However, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in south/southwestern Balochistan and Sindh.

Balochistan: Pasni 94, Turbat 07, Panjgur 05, Ormara 02

Sindh: Hyderabad (City 17 & Airport 12), Thatta 16, Tando Jam 07, Karachi (MOS 06, Saadi Town 03), Chhor, Mithi 02, Padidan 01

Leh remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped to 05 C below the freezing point.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 08 C.

Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 94 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 08 C.

Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 88 per cent.
