ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted the prevailing cold wave and foggy weather to persist in Islamabad and most parts of Pakistan during the next two days.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Islamabad and most parts of the country on Tuesday night, Wednesday and Thursday.
Dense fog/smog will likely prevail in Islamabad, plains of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.
Day temperatures will likely remain below normal due to less sunshine.
Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 01-03 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday.
Meanwhile, foggy weather and cold wave prevailed in Islamabad and parts of Pakistan during the last 24 hours.
Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 12 C below freezing.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 02 C.
Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 78 per cent.
Dense fog/smog prevailed in Islamabad, plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh which decreased temperatures during the day.
Less visibility forced the closure of Motorways and disrupted traffic on the National Highway and other inter and intra-city roads.
