The resignation given by Sardar Usman Buzdar as Punjab chief minister was challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday.
In the petition, in which Punjab chief secretary and other were made the respondents, Tanveer Sarwar, the citizen, argued that Buzdar’s resignation was not addressed to the provincial governor, but to Prime Minister.
“Furthermore, contrary to the constitutional obligation, he did not write it himself,” he said, and prayed to the court to declare acceptance of Buzdar’s resignation ‘unconstitutional’.
