LAHORE – The Punjab government is mulling over closing schools due to increasing smog in Lahore and other cities of the province.
Reports said the government has started preparations for artificial rain to combat smog, adding that the cost of the project will be around Rs350 million.
The Meteorological Department and the Environment Department will play a role in the artificial rain process.
According to the Air Quality Index, the AQI in Lahore at 3pm today was recorded at 205, which falls under the category of very unhealthy. It said that the PM2.5 concentration in Lahore was currently 129.26, higher than the WHO guidelines.
