The 4th Syndicate meeting of University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore was held here with Punjab Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfraz in the chair.
Members of the syndicate committee including UHE Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen, MPA Ms. Rashida Khanum, MPA Ms. Shazia Abid, Punjab Deputy Secretary Higher Education Tanzeel Sheikh, Sialkot GCWU VC Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar, GCU Prof Emeritus Prof Dr Khalid Hameed Sheikh and representatives of the Punjab Law Secretary, the HEC Chairperson and the Law and Parliamentary Affairs Secretary attended the meeting.
The Syndicate Committee approved agenda items, which included several significant decisions regarding financial and administrative issues of University of Home Economics. The meeting confirmed minutes of its 3rd meeting as the draft was circulated among the participants and their suggestions had been incorporated. The Syndicate reviewed Vice Chancellor’s Progress and Implementation Report and applauded the VC and her team for making successful progress on new appointments, commencement of new BS Programs, HEC accreditation, infrastructure development, blended admissions and examination procedures and creation of new departments.
A gracious approval of Model Services Statutes was granted by the Syndicate with slight amendments and the draft was recommended for approval by the Chancellor. The Syndicate also approved Budget 2020-2021 of the UHE and gave a formal approval to creation of three new departments with reallocations of the approved faculty positions.
In a significant development, the Syndicate approved termination of 6 years Annual BS Home Economics Program 2018 as per HEC Policy and HED Guidance and related matters therein. Special fee package for students, as recommended by the academic council, was also approved by the Syndicate besides.
