LAHORE – More than 2.09 million Pakistani nationals reside in the United Arab Emirates for their jobs or businesses, making it a top employment market for Pakistanis.
Every year, a huge number of Pakistanis travel to the Gulf country to seek job and if they manage to get the employment, they need to fulfill the legal requirements, including protector.
Pakistani citizens travelling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a work visa are required to get their foreign employment agreement protected from the Protectorate of Emigrants (PE) office.
The department imposed a protector stamp on the passport of the applicant after receiving OPF, registration, life insurance and OEC fees, and scrutiny of the required documents.

UAE Work Visa Protector Fee in August 2024
An applicant is required to deposit an amount of Rs2,500 as insurance premium to cover life risk for a sum of Rs1,000,000. The insurance coverage is valid for five years.
Furthermore, each applicant pays Rs2,000 in the wake of OPF (Overseas Pakistanis Foundation) fee, Rs2,500 as a registration fee, and Rs200 as OEC fee. The total cost for getting your work visa protected stands at Rs7,200. Following is the breakdown of the protector fee:
