Two-day sports festival concluded

The two-day sports festival under the auspices of district sports administration ended at Central Jail Mardan. Inspector General of Prisons Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Khalid Abbas Khan was guest at this occasion. Superintendent Mardan Jail Shoaib Amin, District sports officer Jamshed Baloch and other officers were also present on the occasion.

The festival featured cricket, tug-of-war and other competitions, which the prisoners thoroughly enjoyed. Inspector General of Prisons Khalid Abbas Khan appreciated the role of the event management team and sports directorate in organizing the sports festival for the inmates of Mardan Jail. He also visited different parts of the jail and met the prisoners and inquired about their living conditions. He also issued necessary instructions to the prison administration for the welfare of the prisoners.

Talking to the media, the Inspector General of Prisons said that as the Covid-19 decreased in the country, such sports fairs would continue throughout the province for the physical and mental development of the prisoners. The Inspector General also announced a two-month special pardon for all convicted prisoners. At the end of the function the guest distributed prizes among the winners of various sports and the event management team.
