A traffic warden injured in firing during attempt to settle dispute between two groups clashing over children fight passed away during treatment here on Sunday.

According to details, relatives of two groups were exchanging hot words over children clash in Lahore the other day when traffic warden Irfanullah along with his two brother Naeemullah, Samiullah and nephew Abdul Rehman reached the scene.

The traffic police official attempted to settle dispute between the clashing neighbourers when accused QamarChattha, ShahidChattha and two others started firing.

As a result of firing, Irfanullah and Naeemullah were injured. The attackers fled the scene of crime.

The injured were shifted to hospital where traffic warden Irfanullah succumbed to his wounds.

CTO Amara Athar has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Irfanullah. She said that the deceased was an honest and hardworking officer and Lahore Police was with his heirs in this critical time.

A case was registered against culprits involved in firing and raids were being conducted for their arrest.
