TEVTA Punjab to establish four model institutes: Chairman

Chairman of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), Brig. Muhammad SajidKhokhar, SI (M) Retd., has emphasized the importance of focusing on quality training in TEVTA institutes and announced practical measures being taken in this regard.

During a meeting at the TEVTA secretariat, the Chairman announced the plan for upgrading of four institutes to model institutes. These institutes include the Government College of Technology Rawalpindi, Government College of Technology Taxila, Government Technical Training Institute Women Township Lahore, and Government Technical Training Institute Gulberg Lahore. Chairman TEVTA further elaborated that by setting up model institutes our focus is the improvement in the quality of education rather than mere giving a newer look to the buildings. He added that the pro vision of modern and up-to-date facilities, including professional faculty and smart classrooms, updated labs and syllabi, e-attendance, and dress code in these institutes, with the support of the Punjab Government. He added that subsequently similar upgradation of institutions will also be made in other districts as well.

Additionally, Chairman TEVTA stated that the rate for consumable materials for practical training is being increased from Rs 250 to Rs 1000. He stressed that intensive practical training is crucial for producing competent and professional skilled HR. He also highlighted that efforts are in hand to provide students with access to numerous global opportunities as a result of their high-quality training, enabling them to find employment and contribute to the development and soft image building of Pakistan.
