T20 World Cup 2024: Netherlands beat Nepal by six wickets

DALLAS – Netherlands beat Nepal by six wickets in the Group D match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in Dallas.

Chasing a 107-run target for victory, Netherlands crossed the finishing line in the penultimate over with six wickets in hand and eight balls to spare.  Max O’Dowd was the top scorer with 54 runs followed by Vikramjit Singh who made 22 runs. Sybrand Engelbrecht scored 14 and Bas de Leede 11 runs. Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee and Abinash Bohra bagged one wicket each while Sybrand Engelbrecht was run out. Tim Pringle was named player of the match.

After being asked to bat first by Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards, Nepal kept losing wickets from the start and were bundled out at 106 in 19.2 overs. Skipper Rohit Paudel was the highest scorer with 35 runs. Karan KC scored 17, Gulsan Jha 14 and Kushal Bhurtel 11 runs. tim Pringle and Logan van Beek bagged three wickets each while Paul van Meekeren and Bas de Leede took two.
