As many as six people lost their lives and an equal number of others injured critically when a jeep lost control and skidded into a ravine in the outskirts of Abbotabad on Thursday. Those killed in the horrible accident include three women belonging to the same family as well as children.
Rescue officials and the Police said the accident occurred in Bukot Nimbal area within the jurisdiction of the Bukot police station. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Galliyat informed that among the deceased were two daughters-in-law and the wife of one Master Rashid.
While injured have been shifted to the hospital the medics say many of them were in precarious condition and were transported to Muzaffarabad Hospital. The victims were returning home after shopping at Kalian Market when the accident happened. The locals said with the eye witness saying the accident occurred due to the over speeding as the ill-fated jeep plunged into a ditch while negotiating a sharp turn.
