Sindh Excise Dept collects Rs24922m till Oct

Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla on Thursday said that during current financial year from July 2019 to October 2019, Sindh Excise Department has collected Rs. 24922.744 millions in term of various taxes while in the same period during last fiscal year Rs. 24649.396 millions were recovered.
This he said while presiding over a meeting here in his office. Secretary Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control Abdul Haleem Shaikh, Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and other officers also attended the meeting.
While briefing the meeting, Director General ET&NC Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui told that Rs.2189.309 millions were recovered in Motor vehicle tax, Rs.19256.399 millions in term of Infrastructure Cess and Rs.256.624 millions in term of Professional Tax were recovered. He added, ‘ Rs.55.796 millions were recovered in Cotton Fee, Rs.1346.531 millions in term of Property Tax and Rs. 27.985 millions in term of Entertainment Duty were recovered’.
Addressing the meeting, Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that situation of collection of the taxes was satisfactory and hopefully the situation would improve gradually. He asked the officers to pay more attention towards recovery of the taxes because he would himself monitor the performance of the officers.
