Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued a stay order on the Sindh government’s decision to purchase 138 double-cabin pickup trucks worth over Rs2 billion, following a petition filed by JI MPA Muhammad Farooq.
The court has also issued notices to the concerned parties, asking for replies within four weeks.
Farooq’s petition, filed on Friday, challenges the government’s expenditure on luxury vehicles amidst soaring inflation and a lack of basic public services. Citing a State Bank of Pakistan report, he highlighted that inflation has crossed 28%, leaving citizens struggling with inadequate health and education facilities.
