Sharjeel calls for swift progress on BRT construction

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has directed authorities to speed up construction on Karachi’s Red Line and Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects. In a high-level meeting of the Department of Transport and Mass Transit, chaired by Minister Memon, officials reviewed the progress of both BRT lines on Wednesday.

Attendees included Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, Sindh Mass Transit Authority MD Kamal Dayo, consultants, contractors, and other senior officials.

Minister Memon emphasized the importance of accelerating the construction work, highlighting the BRT lines as essential for providing Karachi’s residents with modern and affordable transportation. He insisted on strict quality control, stating that the government is committed to delivering efficient, high-quality transit options.

He further stressed the goal of completing both projects ahead of schedule to bring relief to the city’s commuters, as these projects are expected to ease travel and benefit millions. Minister Memon reiterated that all involved parties are focused on ensuring the timely completion of these priority projects to improve mobility and quality of life for Karachi’s residents.
