RAWALPINDI – The Armed Forces of Pakistan, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Services Chiefs have extended heartfelt felicitations to the nation on the Independence Day, which is celebrated on 14 August.
“On this auspicious day, the Armed Forces of Pakistan pay tribute to the visionary founding fathers and valiant veterans, who rendered supreme sacrifices in their unwavering pursuit of freedom and self-determination. Their unrelenting spirit and sacrifices continue to inspire generations,” read a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The Armed Forces reaffirm their unwavering commitment to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and values, upholding the trust reposed in them by the nation.
“As we celebrate this Independence Day, we reiterate our resolve to preserve our hard-won freedom with honor, dignity and an unshakeable commitment to our cherished ideals.”
The nation is celebrating 78th Independence Day today, 14 August, with a renewed pledge to work with spirit of Pakistan Movement to transform the country into a true Islamic welfare state.
The day dawned with thirty-one gun salute at the federal capital and twenty-one gun salute at provincial headquarters.
Special prayers were offered in mosques for peace, solidarity and prosperity of country. The national flag hosting ceremony of the day was held at Pakistan Monument in Islamabad where Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif along with Olympic hero Arshad Nadeem hoisted the national flag.
