Sehat Insaf Cards services to be scaled up: Dr Yasmin

Punjab Health Minister reviewed arrangements to scale up services of the Sehat Insaf Cards Program in a meeting at Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department here on Tuesday.
Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Barrister Nabeel Awan, GM Punjab Health Initiatives Management Company, Khurram Lodhi, manager Hasnaat Ahmed, Deputy Manager Anas Bin Mahmod and Prof Javed Chaudhry.
On the occasion, Nabeel Awan shared fresh proposals as the minister reviewed progress on existing interventions to scale-up services of the Sehat Insaf Cards Program.
The minister said the target of Universal Health Coverage will be achieved as per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, hinting coverage of over 10 million families.
The minister said, “The beneficiaries of the cards will be expanded to included widows, Zakat beneficiaries, deserving families from students of government schools. In the next stage, over one million government servants will be given the facility. The cardholders can avail health services from Kdifferent hospital.
Cardholders will be able to get treatment from Cardiology Institutes in Punjab. The Program is being appreciated everywhere. Provision of Cards to people living below the poverty line is the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, Punjab Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education, Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan paid an unscheduled visit to the Institute of Public Health (IPH) and inspected different departments of the Institute including BSL-III Lab., Dental Unit.
The Secretary also chaired a meeting in the IPH, faculty members and the senior officers attended the meeting. Dean IPH, Prof. Dr. Zarfishan Tahir briefed the Secretary regarding the functioning of various departments of the institute. She also informed the Secy.
Health about the issues faced by the institute especially vacant 27 posts of teaching cadre and the non-availability of hostel facility for the student doctors coming from other cities. She informed that despite of limited resources, IPH is endeavouring hard to fulfil its responsibilities in a befitting manner.
Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Nabeel Ahmad Awan assured that the vacant posts of teaching faculty would be filled on priority basis for which special steps would be taken.
He further said that functions of IPH would be increased besides enhancing the training courses of public health as well as increasing the seats of students in different disciplines.
Secretary Health directed that number of diagnostic tests for various diseases in BSL-III Lab.
