RAWALPINDI – All private schools in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will remain closed on Friday, with students getting long weekend, in wake of protests announced in twin cities.

The decision to shut down schools closure comes as precautionary measure to ensure the safety of school going students and staff as parts of the capital remained choke.

The government has not announced Friday holiday, and it was announced by private school association amid starting tension in the capital city. Officials cited need to mitigate any potential disruptions or safety concerns that could arise from the protests, which are expected to draw large crowds.

The holiday announcement aims to provide safe environment for families during this time of heightened political activity.

Parents and guardians have been informed of the school closures, and many institutions are encouraging students to stay home on Friday. The situation is being closely monitored by local law enforcement and school officials, who are committed to ensuring the safety of the community.

PTI Oct 4 Protests in Islamabad 

In preparation for PTI protest at D-Chowk on October 4, Islamabad’s security agencies are deploying 4,000 police officers across key areas in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Islambaad police are conducting raids to arrest known and unknown PTI leaders, with over 150 arrests reported so far. Major entry points between the two cities will be sealed off, and barricades will be set up in critical locations.
