SBP announces bank holidays for Eid-ul-Adha 2024

KARACHI – The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), allied offices, public and private sector banks/financial institutions will remain closed from June 17 to June 19, 2024 (Monday to Wednesday) being public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.

As such, there will be five bank holidays as June 15 to June 16 (Saturday and Sunday) are weekly offs. Banks will resume working on June 20, 2024 (Thursday) after two weekly off and three holidays for Eid-ul-Adha.

Eid Ul Adha 2024

People in Pakistan will enjoy prolonged Eid ul Adha Holidays this year despite announcement of only three holidays.

A summary has surfaced online, showing a three-day holiday for Eid ul Adha from June 17 to 19, as nation of over 240 million is gearing up for Feast Festival.

The holiday announcement follows sighting of the Zil Hajj moon on June 7, as Pakistan will celebrate Eid ul Adha on June 17. Eid ul Adha, which occurs on the 10th day of Zil Hajj, coincides with the Hajj pilgrimage.
