Pak-Saudi relations stronger than rock: Sarwar

Saudi Arabian Ambassador in Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki called on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar.
During the meeting, the Saudi Ambassador announced scholarships for 600 Pakistani students in 25 different Saudi universities.
According to details, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar had a meeting with Saudi Ambassador at Governor House Lahore. Pak-Saudi relations and other issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
On the occasion, the Ambassador announced a scholarship program for Pakistani students. The Punjab governor thanked the Saudi Government and the Saudi Ambassador for the historic initiative of scholarship.
During the meeting, Governor Ch Sarwar termed Pak-Saudi relations stronger than rock and said that respect for the Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques is obligatory on every Muslim.
He said that Saudis and Pakistanis are brothers, adding that Pak-Saudi relations are deep and historic.
He said that Pakistanis had a long-lasting spiritual attachment with Saudi Arabia and hearts of both beat together.
He further said that Saudi Arabia always stood with Pakistan in difficult times, for which the nation thanks the Saudi leadership.
Ch Sarwar said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have close fraternal ties rooted in the history and Pakistan will always stand by Saudi Arabia to protect its integrity and sovereignty.
He said that the extent to which Pak Saudi Relations have flourished under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is unprecedented.
Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki termed the relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as ‘Two Brothers’ and said that Saudi Arabia has never left Pakistan alone before and will not leave it in the future.
“We consider Pakistan as our home and will play our role in its development, Saudi Arabia stands with Pakistan for development, stability and peace,” he said.
Later, Governor Ch Sarwar expressed deep sense of sorrow on the demise of the mother of senior journalist Mir Shakeelul Rahman and wife of Mir Khalilul Rahman and prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the highest ranks in Jannah to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PPDWP) approved 13 development schemes of various sectors with an estimated cost of Rs11,301.872 million.
These schemes were approved in the meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2021-22 presided over by Chairman Planning & Development Board Abdullah Khan Sumbal.
The approved development schemes included Restoration of Water Logged Area in District Faisalabad at the cost of Rs. 800.684 million, Improvement / Rehabilitation of PCC / Tuff tiles, Rural Drainage and Sanitation.

Khan at the cost of Rs480.000 million, Installation of 175 Water Filtration Plants for Provision of Safe Drinking Water in Three Divisions of Punjab (Bahawalpur, DG Khan & Multan) (South Zone) at the cost of Rs. 664.750 million, Installation of 350 Water Filtration Plants for Provision of Safe Drinking Water in the 6 Divisions of Punjab (Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal and Sargodha) (North Zone) at the cost of Rs. 1,328.440 million.
