After bidding farewell to Bollywood and adopting the hijab, actress Sana Khan broke into tears remembering her past.
Recently, Sana Khan appeared on Rubina Dilaik’s podcast, during which she became emotional while admitting that embracing the Bollywood industry affected her Muslim identity.
During the podcast, Rubina Dilaik asked Sana Khan, “When and why did you choose to return to your faith?” In response, Sana Khan said, “Sometimes we say the right things to people, but our body language doesn’t align. There was a time in my life when I began questioning myself, wondering why I wasn’t happy.”
Talking about Islam, Sana Khan said, “As a woman, I didn’t even realize when the devil stripped me bare. I don’t understand how a girl who used to wear a shalwar kameez and oil her hair for college reached the point of wearing short dresses and sleeveless outfits. Even now, when I remember, I feel like crying.”
On the other hand, the actress spoke about her son and husband, saying, “In our religion, daughters are considered a blessing, and sons are seen as a gift.” The former actress praised her husband, saying, “There is no comparison between my husband and me. He is like a diamond, and I am like coal.”
Sana Khan bid farewell to Bollywood in 2020 and married Mufti Anas Syed in 2021. Since her marriage, Sana Khan has been living a happy life, and last year, she and Mufti Anas were blessed with a son.
