Pakistan rupee continued the winning streak against the US dollar for the second straight session on Thursday and appreciated by Rs0.24 (+0.15 percent) in the interbank.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the US dollar opened at Rs163.47 and closed at Rs163.23. Within the open market, the rupee was traded at Rs163.50/164.20 per dollar.
Overall, Pakistani rupee has shed Rs0.80 against the US dollar during the last four days, while depreciation during the fiscal year 2021-22 has been Rs5.87. The local unit has shed Rs3.14 against the US dollar in the current year 2021.
Currency experts said that the market witnessed sufficient supply of the foreign currency during the day. The supply of the greenback helped the rupee make gains.—TLTP
