To conserve energy and counter load shedding, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken a principal decision for solarization of all mosques and worship places of minorities in merged tribal districts. The spokesman of Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) told APP that Rs450 million were approved for solorization of mosques and worship places of minorities in all seven tribal districts including North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Orakzai, Kurram, Khyber, Mohmand and Bajaur. The practical work was being started on the project to bolster energy resources to resolve problems of energy shortfall.
He said a meeting of Provincial Working Development Party (PDWP) led by Additional Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir Khan has recently approved Rs 450 for solarization of mosques and others worship places in merged districts under the Accelerated Implementation Program (AIP) under 10 years tribal decade strategy (TDS). He said an agreement was signed between KP Govt and World Bank for development of hydropower projects (HP) worth $450 million to support construction of 88megawatt Gabral-Kalam HP, 157MW Madyan HP, and planning and management consultants.
