Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that resolution of problems being faced by the masses is the top priority and for this purpose, Pakistan Muslim League (PML) is being reorganized at grass-root level.
He expressed these views while talking to prominent political, social and business personality of Nankana Sahib Mian Zulfiqar and Rai Shajjar Abbas advocate who called on him at his residence here on Thursday and announced joining the PML along with colleagues.
Welcoming the new comers into the fold of the party, Ch Parvez Elahi said that for safety against epidemic of Corona all should implement and observe SOPs and get vaccinated so that life is safe.
While observing SOPs continue preparations for local body’s election so that when the epidemic is over the process of serving the people can be started, he urged.
Thanking Ch Parvez Elahi on this occasion, Mian Zulfiqar said that your services as the Chief Minister are praise worthy, progress which Punjab made during your tenure is unparalleled, and impressed by your spirit of service to the people we have decided to join your party along with the colleagues.
TAD TO PROMOTE RELIGIOUS TOURISM
The Punjab Tourism and Archaeology Department (TAD) has decided to promote religious tourism in the province with special focus on 11 historical places sacred for various faiths.
The decision was taken during a meeting held here on Thursday with Secretary TAD Ehsan Bhutta in chair.
Additional Secretary Tourism, Director Auqaf, Deputy Secretary Religious Affairs Department, Deputy Director ETPB, Director Walled City Lahore Authority (WCLA), Senior Chief, Planning & Development Board, Director Archaeology and representative of PTEGP attended the meeting.
The meeting was told that under the Punjab Tourism for Economic Growth Project (PTEGP), on-site management studies of 11 sites including Gurdawaras Nankana Sahib, Rohri Sahib, Sacha Sauda, Katas Raj temple, Taxila Museum, Bibi Jawindi Uch Sharif, Darbar Khwaja Ghulam Farid, Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh were done.
PTEGP was also rehabilitating six roads leading to religious sites of 34-KM length with a cost of Rs. 833 million. These roads will be completed by June 2021.
Director WCLA informed that a mosque in Lahore was being rehabilitated through a private owner.
