The Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Attock on Tuesday conducted Challenge for Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) to improve professional emergency response capacity of CERTs and develop resilient communities in the country.
The competitions were held in different scenarios including Management of Mass Causality Incident (MCI), Light Search and Rescue, Basic Life Support and First Aid, Response to Fire and Water Emergencies.
He said that in order to establish safer communities, Rescue 1122 is implementing the Community Safety Program which includes capacity building of community emergency response teams, school safety program, training of citizens in life saving skills.
He said that the competition was held to access, analyze, rate and encourage the best CERTs and rescue scout based on imparted emergency response skills at district level, furthermore, this challenge would definitely enhance the professional emergency response capacity and develop disaster resilient communities in the country.
Addressing to the opening ceremony, district emergency officer Engr Kamran Rasheed has said the main objective of the challenge was to provide a platform to volunteers for healthy competition.
