Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Friday declared that strong historical and cultural bonds bind Pakistan and Turkey together and Pakistan is very proud of Turkey being a strong and successful state of the world.
“Joint programmes like exhibitions reflect the beauty of Pak-Turkish friendship and highlight a positive image of Muslim community to the world.
Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid was speaking at the inauguration of Turk-Pak photo exhibition at the University of Education, Township, on the occasion of Turkish Republic Day here on Friday.
The minister greeted organizers for the exhibition and Turkish people and government on their national Republic Day.
“Turkey is one of the developed countries in the world and Pakistani nation proud of the development of the brotherly country.”
Younis Emre Institute Director-General Olash Artas, Pro Vice-Chancellor University of Education Dr Muhammad Arshad, Film Art Culture Exchange and Collaboration Executive Director Majid Rafiq, Turkey Urdu Executive Editor Muhammad Hassan and Lahore-based Turkish businessmen attended the ceremony.
The photo exhibition titled “1000 Years Connect” was organized by the Film Art Culture Exchange and Collaboration (FACEN.org) in collaboration with the University of Education, while Turkey Urdu was its media partner.
The University of Education also organized a ceremony to commemorate the Turkish Republic Day.
Addressing the function, Dr Yasmin Rashid said: “The photo exhibition depicts a connection spanning beyond 1000 years. Prime Imran Khan has always vouched for closer ties between Pakistan and Turkey.
We are proud of Pakistan-Turkish friendship. Turkey has been s very supportive of Pakistan during the Corona pandemic and has always raised its voice for the Kashmir issue at the international level and has supported Pakistan.
Many projects have been completed in Pakistan with the support of Turkey and some are in progress.”
Younis Emre Institute Director-General Ulas Ertas said, “I am very happy to be here today. We are two states and one nation.
The friendship between Turkey and Pakistan is very old and deep. With the help of this program, Pak-Turkish friendship will become stronger. He appreciated the Executive Director of FACEN, Majid Rafiq for this first of its kind event.
Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid and Minister for School Education Murad Raas inaugurated student vaccination centre at Pilot School Wahdat Road here on Friday.
Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Secretary Imran Sikander Baloch, Special Secretary Saleha Saeed and officials of Health Department were also present on the occasion.
Both the ministers reviewed the vaccination process at the centre. The Health Minister also monitored fumigation process in Wahdat Colony.
In her discussion, the Health Minister said, “We have to make the Reach Every Door Campaign a success that is being held from 25th October to 15th November. The target for this campaign is vaccination of 20 million people.
During this campaign, 70,000 staff of Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department and 4,000 people of School Education Department are rendering services. In the first four days, more than 2.5 million people have been vaccinated.
We will vaccinate around 5 million students in the RED campaign. The fifth wave of the Corona Pandemic with Epsilon variant has hit the world. More and more people must try to get themselves vaccinated during the RED campaign.”
