Intermittent rain in heavy to light spells on Tuesday left various low-lying areas of Lahore inundated with rainwater besides forcing residents of different areas to experienced power outages.
Due to rain, at least 50 power feeders of the Lahore Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) tripped, plunging various parts of the City in darkness.
The power supply in the walled City area and north parts remained suspended due to feeders tripping.
The Lesco officials confirmed and said after as soon as the rain stops, work will be started for restoration of the power supply to all areas.
The areas that faced outages included Shahdara, Misri Shah, Begum Kot, , Shad Bagh, Railway Station, Bunder Road and Ravi Road area.
The weather turned pleasant when it started to rain early Tuesday morning. According to the weather report, a system that brings rain has entered Lahore and the city will witness monsoon rain spells till Friday.
Rain lashed different areas of the provincial capital including Lakshmi Chowk, Gowalmandi, Raj Garh, Samanabad, Mall Road and several other areas.
The Met Office said that new monsoon system will enter Sindh from Indian Gujrat on September 22, which will bring rainfall in Karachi and other Sindh cities.
The monsoon spell will likely to be continued till 26th September (Sunday), said the weather department in its fresh advisory.
Earlier today, the Met Office forecast entry of a new monsoon system in the country from this evening/night bringing a new spell of rainfall.
