ISLAMABAD – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday evening/night, Saturday and Sunday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave will likely affect the upper and western parts of the country from Friday evening/tonight.
Under the influence of these conditions, partly cloudy weather conditions with rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in the twin cities and at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeastern Balochistan, south/central Punjab, Pothohar region and Kashmir on Friday evening/night and during the weekend.
Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 36-38 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday. Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 37-39°C on Saturday and 38-40°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in the twin cities and most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. Dadu and Jacobabad remained the hottest places in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 53 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 38 per cent.
