LAHORE – On significant improvement in ambient air quality, the Punjab government has decided to open educational institutions across the province from Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

“The ambient air quality has improved in Punjab, due to rain in upper parts, change in wind direction and speed. Therefore, all the educational institutions in the whole province, including Lahore and Multan Division, shall be opened w.e.f. 20-11-2024 (Wednesday) with physical presence of students/staff with restrictions/precautionary measures.

“All the educational institutions in these districts shall observe school opening timings not before 08:45 am. All the students/staff shall wear face masks. There shall be a complete ban on outdoor sports and outdoor co-curricular activities till further orders. All educational institutions shall introduce class wise school closing timing to avoid traffic congestions”, reads the notification issued by Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh, Director General, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Punjab on Tuesday.
