LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that they are thankful to Allah that they are breathing in a free country.
While addressing a ceremony related to Independence Day at Hazoori Bagh, Maryam Nawaz said, “Congratulations to the nation on the 77th Independence Day. The special children are standing to my right, and I want to encourage all the children. We are thankful to Allah for blessing us with the gift of freedom.”
She added, “The children recited that we are a living nation, we are a resilient nation. In the coming era, the reins of the country will be in the hands of the youth. I have one question: Are we truly a living nation?”
Maryam Nawaz said, “Yesterday, I visited Arshad Nadeem’s home in Mian Channu. I paid tribute to Arshad Nadeem for his historic achievement. There is no shortage of talent in Pakistan. Talent exists in Pakistan; it just needs to be discovered. Every Pakistani is happy on Independence Day, and we are thankful to Allah that we are breathing in a free country.”
The Chief Minister of Punjab said, “Protecting the minority community is the responsibility of all of us. This homeland belongs to minorities just as much as it does to us. The white color in our flag represents minorities. The children have set an example of faith and unity. The tradition of making the nation’s name shine should continue. This tradition should not come after decades.”
She remarked, “Allah has blessed Pakistan with many blessings. Today, there is great oppression in Palestine. May Allah free Palestine from this oppression. We must reflect on how successful we have been in 77 years. Our soldiers are protecting the country by sacrificing their lives.”
Maryam Nawaz further said, “From today onwards, let us vow that whenever we think, we think for our country. This country was made to live on. May Allah keep this country always at the highest, and may Allah keep this country safe and sound.”
