Punjab bans housing societies on green areas

The Punjab Chief Secretary has stopped all deputy commissioners of the province from issuing No Objection Certificates (NOC) to housing societies, being constructed in green areas.

Punjab Chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik on Tuesday barred all deputy commissioners from issuing NOCs for housing societies that seek permission for construction on green land areas of the province.

The Punjab government has directed that no housing society will be built on green areas, they could only be built in residential areas.
