Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has announced to provide free education to children of martyred policemen. He announced this while addressing a ceremony in Police Lines, Lahore. The ceremony was held in relations to police martyrs day that observed on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Pervaiz Elahi announced that the provincial government was working on a law to provide free education to children of martyred policemen. “The government will also create employment opportunities for the children,” he added. CM Punjab also announced an increase in the amount of compensation to be paid to policemen who embrace martyrdom in the line of duty.
“The government will provide new vehicles for police patrolling,” he added. Pervaiz Elahi added that the government will monitor the measure itself by constituting a monitoring cell. He also criticised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for ‘neglecting’ the police force. “The nation will never forget the sacrifices of police force and will continue to remember them with great regard and honour,” he said.
Chief Minister went to the Police Line on the eve of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Police and met with the families of martyrs and their children. He expressed his solidarity with the families of the martyrs on the occasion of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Police. CM expressed his affection with the children of the police martyrs and showed his love for them. The families of police martyrs and their children made selfies with him and he also had photographs with them. CM invited the families of police martyrs and their children on a lunch.
Earlier, CM reached police line where the children of the police martyrs presented him with a flower bouquet. The smartly turned out contingent of police presented a salute to him. CM paid a visit to the Yadgaar-e-Shuhada and laid a flower wreath at theYadgaar-e-Shuhada and also prayed for them. The police band paid homage to the police martyrs.
