Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 will look to deliver another slobber knocker of a contest with Multan Sultans taking on Lahore Qalandars for a second time in this year’s competition.

The defending champions lead the PSL 8 table while Sultans sit in second place.

The winner tonight could potentially seal one of the top two spots, which should motivate both teams and make for an exciting game.

Here is all you need to know ahead of the match.

Lahore Qalandars vs Multan Sultans PSL head-to-head record:

Both teams are tied in record books with 7 wins for each side.

Lahore currently has a slight edge in recent results, winning 3 of the last 5 matches between the two teams including the opening game of PSL 8 and the final last year.

Where and when will the game take place?

Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host the contest at 7:00 PM (PKT).

Players to watch:

The match should once again be a tussle between Lahore’s bowling and Multan’s batting.

Mohammad Rizwan, who leads the PSL 8 in runs scored, would once again be crucial for their chances while Rilee Rossouw, David Miller and even Kieron Pollard remain their best-hitting threats.

Usama Mir and Ihsanullah are the likeliest bowlers to break through Lahore’s batting line-up.

The Qalandars, meanwhile, boast some serious firepower of their own with Fakhar Zaman, Sikandar Raza and Abdullah Shafique the names to look out for.

But their main strength is their bowling with Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Rashid Khan still possibly the best trio in PSL this season.

Form:

Multan is coming off a surprising loss to Karachi Kings but that is the only blimp in their record in the past five games.

Qalandars are on a run of four-match unbeaten streak which has helped them climb to the top of the table.

Lahore won their previous meeting by just a single run which should give both teams hope of getting a positive result.
